As the export champion of the last eight years and Turkey's largest export sector, the automotive industry is in first place in commercial vehicle manufacture in Europe.

The principal areas of business of the Association may be summarized as:

  • Increasing the export volume of the industry;
  • Informing its members about developments in foreign trade.
  • Implementing the policies set forth by the Turkish Ministry of the Economy and the Turkish Exporters Assembly
  • To perform other issues related to foreign trade by Turkish Exporters Assembly

The role of the automotive industry in the Turkish economy is steadily growing. Besides its potential for creating high added value, the automotive industry is at the foundation of advances in industrialization and technology and its rate of growth over the years, along with the export opportunities it provides, has made it a significant presence within the Turkish economy.

As the No. 1 sector in exports, the automotive industry is responsible for 22,3 billion dollars in exports. This means that about one-seventh of total Turkish exports belong to the automotive sector.

At present, the Automotive Industry has a 14% share in Turkey's total exports and to reach 75 billion dollar export target for the centennial year of the Republic, the goal of the sector is to produce 4 million vehicles and to export 3 million of these.

In line with this goal, the companies that have invested in our country need to increase their capacities and also draw new main industry investments into the country.
