TAYSAD’s Operational Excellence UR-GE Project, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Trade and in cooperation with İdealkoç as the project solution partner, has been selected as a “Best Practice Example” by the Ministry of Trade for the fourth time. Aiming to improve operational efficiency, optimize processes, and strengthen sustainable competitiveness among automotive suppliers, the project stands out for its measurable results to date.
Implemented across five cohorts with the participation of 50 companies, the Operational Excellence UR-GE Project helps companies identify areas for improvement and make their production and management processes leaner, more efficient, and more effective. The project has generated a total economic impact of TRY 297 million to date, while the nine companies participating in the fifth cohort achieved an operational improvement impact of TRY 144 million.
A Three-Phase Transformation Model
Built around three strategic phases, the project aims to establish a lasting culture of continuous improvement within participating companies. The first phase focuses on developing a lean mindset and core competencies. The second phase translates this knowledge into practice through hands-on consultancy projects, while the third aims to train in-house experts who can extend this approach throughout their organizations.
This model supports companies in reducing the cost of poor quality, increasing inventory turnover, eliminating waste, and managing their operational processes through a continuous improvement approach. The project focuses not only on short-term efficiency gains but also on embedding these gains into corporate culture.
Contributing to the Competitiveness of the Automotive Supply Industry
Supported by the Ministry of Trade at a rate of 75%, the Operational Excellence UR-GE Project helps companies develop in-house improvement capabilities and sustain the results they achieve. The project’s recognition as a “Best Practice Example” for the fourth time underscores the importance of TAYSAD’s initiatives to support its members’ development and promote efficiency-driven transformation across the industry.
Through the Operational Excellence UR-GE Project, TAYSAD continues to support the wider adoption of lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the automotive supply industry.
